Apr 06, 2007
Gerding Edlen was awarded with the first ever USGBC Leadership Award on Wednesday in a ceremony that took place at the OHSU Center for Health & Healing atrium, where OHSU was also presented the LEED Platinum plaque.
Rick Fedrizzi, president of the US Green Building Council presented Gerding Edlen with the 2007 Leadership Award, an annual award reserved for firms with the broadest influence across industry sectors. “For one firm, it’s the biggest achievement in the world right now,’” Fedrizzi says.
“On a recent visit to Beijing, Fedrizzi said he saw Chinese officials studying The Brewery Blocks in the Pearl District, Gerding Edlen’s first multi-block green project.” The Oregonian’s Dylan Rivera reports that Fedrizzi anticipates similar attention for the OHSU Center for Health & Healing, Gerding Edlen’s most recent LEED Platinum building.
