Gerding Edlen Receives B Corp Status
Jan 11, 2016
Gerding Edlen is proud to announce that it is now a certified B Corporation. B Corps, or Benefit Corporations, are important because they encourage businesses to compete on a social impact level. Certified B Corporations are legally required to consider the impact of their decisions not only on their shareholders, but also on the stakeholders of the business: workers, suppliers, community, consumers and the environment.
To qualify for the certification, a company must meet higher standards for social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability. The average score to achieve certification is 95 points – Gerding Edlen scored 100. Our ratings in the Environmental category were substantially above average, but we also excelled in the Workers category for our robust benefits, internal advancement, and employee satisfaction.
There are currently over 1,300 Certified B Corporations from 120 industries in 50 countries across the globe - all working to redefine the conversation around business success.
