Historic Building May Become Performing Arts Center

Gerding Edlen and Portland Center Stage are working to redevelop historic armory building into a new performance venue

Portland’s largest theatre company is hoping to move it’s home to the Brewery Blocks, Gerding Edlen’s 1.7 million square foot, mixed-use project. The Amory’s 35,000 make it an interesting options for a range of tenants, writes Aimee Curl of the Daily Journal of Commerce.

"Our main thrust is to figure out how to preserve the building," said Scott Eaton, director of marketing at Gerding Edlen. "Because it's unique, it doesn't meet the demands of most retailers today. It would be perfect for a venue like Portland Center Stage, perfect for a health club and a good venue for a larger scale retailer."
