A multitude of prospective buyers have staked an early claim in the first South Waterfront development

The Meriwether condominium towers in Portland's South Waterfront Central District are attracting early interest from buyers

Appealing to a wide range of prospects from empty nesters to young professional to bike devotees, The Meriwether started drawing attention when it was “more rendering than reality,” writes the Daily Journal of Commerce's Stephanie Basaylga. The Meriwether, currently under construction, is the first project to rise in Portland's South Waterfront district.

With a reservation rate holding steady at an impressive 99%, the Meriwether will soon have equally impressive neighbors going up. “But no matter how many new residential towers rise in the South Waterfront. No matter how many more sustainable features they'll boast or how many trendy amenities they can brag about above and beyond those offered by The Meriwether, those newcomers will never be able to lay claim to being the first. The groundbreaker. The trailblazer that wasn't afraid to stand alone – even if it was just for a short time.”
