OHSU Center for Health & Healing Wins BEST Award
Apr 19, 2007
Twelve local companies and projects left the 15th Annual BEST Awards Breakfast with this year’s top honors from the City of Portland's Office of Sustainable Development, including Gerding Edlen's Center for Health and Healing. The OHSU Center for Health & Healing is one of the first buildlings to rise out of the former brownfield site in the South Waterfront Central District. It is the most resource efficient large-scale buildings in the region and one of the greenest in the country.
“The point of the BEST Awards is to honor businesses that are redefining economic opportunity and successfully incorporating sustainable business practices into their bottom line,” added Commissioner Dan Saltzman. “Regardless of who goes home today with an award, it is clear that all these companies and organizations are making significant contributions to a healthy, prosperous future for our region.”
