PACIFIC UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONS

Creating Transit-Oriented Classrooms Quickly

Pacific University wanted to build a new Health Professions Campus facility adjacent to Tuality Community Hospital in Hillsboro, Oregon. To make it easy for their students they wanted a very transit-oriented site.

The entire project, from start to finish, took less than 15 months. As part of a broader Tuality Community Plan, we worked together to meet the needs of the community. The facility will attract hundreds of students, faculty and services to downtown Hillsboro. A second phase will provide 15,000 square feet to the Virginia Garcia Clinic, which works with the local community to provide health care and will house the school’s psychology and optometry departments. A very aggressive transit-oriented plan is being pursued.
