Aspiring to be Part of the River and Land
Located directly on the Willamette River banks in the 38-acre South Waterfront Central District, is an elegant glass prism that connects residents to the river with eco-friendly luxury. Designed by nationally recognized Portland architect Thomas Hacker along with GBD Architects, the elegant design takes its inspiration from the light reflecting on the water. We worked closely with Hacker and GBD Architects to create distinctive, luxury units. The 23-story building steps back from the river, with the balconies for each unit staggered, giving many of its homes sweeping views of the water and mountains. As with all the South Waterfront buildings, street level landscaping, courtyards and retail spaces draw residents outside and engage district visitors. Like all of our buildings, Atwater Place employs a number of sustainable practices such as low-flow fixtures, efficient irrigation of landscaped areas, an integrated stormwater strategy, and a significant emphasis on recycled-content and locally sourced materials. The building received LEED Gold Certification from the US Green Building Council. Atwater Place was developed through a joint venture between Williams & Dame Development and Gerding Edlen Development Company, LLC.
